E2-Performance - in light blue

The light blue E2-Performance stacking bin is an optimised version of the red E2 stacking bin. It features a ventilated upper rim and a unique number that can be read electronically using a QR code or barcode.

Application

The light blue E2-Performance stacking bin is used as a meat bin throughout the European meat industry, particularly in Germany. E2-Performance bins circulate in an ‘open’ pool, in which each participant purchases, contributes and exchanges bins according to their own requirements.

During production, E2-Performance bins are fitted with labels on all four sides. These labels are permanently integrated into the walls of the bin using an in-mould labelling process. Each label displays a unique number that can be read electronically using the QR code or barcode.

This number makes it possible to identify the manufacturer of the bin. Combined with continuous inspections, this helps ensure consistent product quality. The electronically readable number also provides the basis for the traceability of both the meat bin itself and the meat and meat products being transported. This track-and-trace system forms an important basis for food safety throughout the entire food supply chain.

Thanks to their Euronorm dimensions, E2-Performance bins can easily be used with standardised mobile plastic trolleys and plastic pallets. Our EURO H1 pallet, featuring the red GS1 certification mark, was developed in part as a standardised pallet for the light blue E2-Performance meat bin. This EURO H1 pallet also circulates throughout Europe in an open pool, often in combination with Euro meat containers.

Product details

The E2-Performance bin features a ventilated upper rim with integrated handgrips on all four sides. This ensures optimal ventilation and cooling of meat products while allowing easy handling.

The bin is also fitted with textured label areas on all four sides for the temporary application of stickers. Alongside these areas are permanently integrated labels displaying a unique number. This number can be read electronically using the QR code or barcode, making the identification and traceability of the stacking bin and its contents as efficient as possible.

The light blue colour clearly distinguishes the E2-Performance from the red E2 meat bin. Another advantage of the blue colour is that plastic fragments can be detected more easily optically, contributing to product safety.

An additional benefit is that the light blue colour provides a good indication that 100% virgin material has been used in the production of this food bin.
