How collapsible crates work
Collapsible crates work with a mechanism where two walls are unlocked, allowing all four walls to fold inward. The hinges are located only on the base. Collapsible crates are also available with a two-part hinged lid.
Folding crates also operate by unlocking two walls. In this case, the hinges are located on both the upper edge and the base. Additionally, there is a hinge in two of the wall sections, allowing these walls to fold.

10 Advantages of Plastic Collapsible Crates
- Space-saving: When collapsed, a collapsible crate is only 50 mm high. Folding is simple, and afterward, the crates can be stored or transported in a space-saving manner.
- Food-safe: Made from food-grade plastic, making it safe for direct contact with fruits, vegetables, or other food items.
- Drainage system: The plastic material doesn’t absorb water, preventing bacteria from settling. The base has drainage grooves that allow excess water or melted water from frozen products to drain away.
- Endlessly reusable: Due to their long lifespan, collapsible crates are popular in return systems with supermarkets, suppliers, and food banks. These crates have a sturdy construction, high load capacity, and are made from high-quality plastic.
- Load capacity: The collapsible crates have a load capacity of 15 kg, with a stacking load of 200 kg. They can be stacked up to 12 high when full.
- Stackable: Collapsible crates stack securely on top of each other and do not slip during transport. With the Euronorm 600 x 400 mm format, they stack perfectly with other standardized load carriers like stackable bins, transport rollers, roll containers, and pallets.
- Hygienic: Only the upper and lower edges of the collapsible crate have reinforcing ribs. The sidewalls are relatively smooth with few edges or corners where dirt could accumulate, making them easy to clean. Due to their temperature resistance (briefly up to +90°C), thorough cleaning with very hot water is also possible.
- Air circulation: Cold (freezing) air has optimal access to the contents through the perforated sidewalls, allowing products to cool quickly to the desired temperature. Collapsible crates are also used for ventilation with warm air.
- Handy: The collapsible crate has four open handles, one on each side, making it easy to grab and lift from any position, even when fully loaded.
- Various colors: We offer collapsible crates in Orange, Green, Blue, Gray, and Black. A color-coded work method can easily be implemented with these crates.
